Fifty-nine per cent of the population in South Sudan lacks access to safe water. To survive, families may be forced to drink dirty water, putting them at risk of waterborne diseases such as cholera and diarrhoea, which remain the leading causes of death among children in South Sudan. The situation is further aggravated by poor hygiene practices. Just 10 per cent of the population have access to improved sanitation. Our focus will be

  • Drilling of boreholes and establishing solarized water system.
  • Training of water management committees.
  • Establishment of water haffirs for livestock.
  • Management of perennial flooding.
